Cruel Work

Today's photos of stitching updates contain no shots of the cruel crewel work.   Stem Stitch and French Knots I can manage OK it seems but Satin Stitch looks less like satin and more like slub.   Perserverance is the name of the game but having to show my amateur efforts is not compulsory!

So instead.... feast your eyes on huckaback, hardanger and strawberries.

Tonight I will have another tussle with the cruel work and hopefully also complete the last centre medallion of the Confetti of Hardanger HAL.   Have a good evening everyone.

LOL at the 'cruel' work...but the pictures I see all look wonderful!
How sad to see the last strawberry of the season, huh? Looking forward to ours this summer!

Oh, it's so frustrating when a stitch doesn't do as it should. Your other work looks great though and I'm sure that you're being too hard on yourself. I think that when you work closely on a piece you see all the imperfections that others don't.

Love seeing your progress. The strawberry looks so beautiful!

I have always thought crewel was just plain cruel. I prefer the evenness of counted thread work. Your finishes are beautiful.

That strawberry is gorgeous! Hopefully the crewel work isn't so cruel next time. I really look forward to seeing your progress. It's something that's interested me for a long time, but I've never gotten the nerve to try it.
