Me a nurse?!

The DBEM had a couple of falls in the night and is battered and bruised but thankfully no breakages. Anyway that meant I was confined to nursing care duties today which resulted in two things:
(1). Only 1200 steps on my Fitbit rather than the usual 12,000+
(2).  Time to complete the stitching on this Christmas Ornament.   From the 2010 Just Christmas Ornament issue, in the DMC threads specified and on 32 count Belfast natural linen.
I plan on making a set of four "Advent" ornaments for a friend so the linen and the finishing fabrics will be the same.   Next up to be either Love or Hope once I have finished searching through my Ornament charts.
I am sick of reading, tired of the hot humid weather, frustrated at not being able to get outdoors, uncertain as to what the immediate future holds as to my "nursing" requirements, limited by my sore elbow to a strictly rationed time of stitching, and looking forward to a repeato ditto day tomorrow as I've had to take a day off work.   So on that Poor Me note I'll sign off.

Oh dear, hope your mother wasn't too badly hurt.. and hope that very hot weather starts to cool down. We are frosty outside here but we've had all new radiators so toasty warm inside

Thanks. Can you tell that I'm not fond of uncertainty?

Shaken badly I think and very bruised but no fractures. Hopefully she will bounce back well.

Data Base Engineering Methodology" ...??? I googled DBEM to found out what it meant, and clearly it's nothing to do with engineering in your post. I see from someone's comment the fall has to do with your Mother, but am clueless what the initials mean. Sorry to hear someone fell and that you're acting as a nurse and therefore your steps are down. Mine have been all over the place with spending too much time at the hospital, or rehab center for Dad. I've been making goal most days, but...not real consistently. He's soon to be admitted to an assisted living center which I hope helps and gives me back some of my time......Good luck to you as well.

Sorry Sandy this acronym is my own invention and is short for Deaf Blind Elderly Mother:-). All the best for you and your Dad and his transition to care. I'm thinking I might have to take early retirement to look after the DBEM but we shall see.

Sorry to hear about Mum, hope she's feeling better soon.
Love the ornie. I stitched this one a while back and sent it to Clare for her Church Tree.

This seems to be a popular one. I did one for my tree in 2010 and one of my nieces got one a year or two ago. Although I think I might have changed the red. Am not too fond of this pinky red. But it is what it is :-)

Sending hugs and best wishes to the knitting queen and love to you too, Margaret x

Thank you. Even while black and blue with bruises she is sitting in her chair knitting and bemoaning the fact she hasn't so many garments completed as last year. Yes she is slowing down and I'm keeping a watchful eye that she doesn't bequeath me a whole trunk full of yarn:-)
