First Day of Winter

Today I went for a walk to say farewell to my favourite season -  Autumn.
The temperatures say winter but the day was golden, although by the time I went for my walk the sun was almost gone.

This is the progress shot of my Trip Book Cover.
Stitching over one requires concentration and my nephew has been staying for the past couple of nights so I haven't been stitching much.  Last night he was intrigued to watch me make a twisted cord to complete my Scottie Mitten. I hope to sew that in place tonight.  We have a public holiday on Monday to celebrate Queen's Birthday so I hope to make some more progress then.   Tonight while I am talking I will start a piece of Sashiko- surely I can't go wrong with running stitch?

Whenever I see or hear about what you are working on, I find myself thinking, that's what I feel like working on, too. Today is no different. Over one cross stitch and sashiko are very different from my current projects and they sound very appealing.
Every time we talk with Ted's elderly mother in the US, she always says, how can it be morning there when it's evening here. I feel somewhat the same. How can it be winter where you are when summer is just hatching here?
I love your work and your stories about your neck of the woods!

It's so strange to hear that winter is coming, when it is just ending for us. We finely had our first hot day today (30C). Your book cover is looking good. I can't wait to see your progress on Sashiko because I don't have any idea what it is lol. :)

Wow, what an adventure you have back there! It’s really nice exploring other things and exceeding your limits. How I wish I could try that activities too. Unfortunately, I’m really too busy with work, family and other engagements. Anyway, I really appreciate that you have shared your wonderful journey. Have fun!

I enjoy autumn too. No holiday here tomorrow for the Queen's birthday. It is strange that as we come into summer you are coming into winter. Your book cover is coming along nicely, I need to concentrate when stitching over one too.

The seasons are really changing right now wherever we are. The trip book cover is starting to look really good. I am glad to hear that there is a vacation day coming up there, great time to work on some projects. I think Sashiko patterns really look good on throw pillows.
