60 things to do before I'm 60

In October next year I turn 60 and I have begun constructing a list of 60 things I want to do before I turn 60.
Any sensible suggestions will be considered.

1.  Get a new passport (completed 15/5/2013)
2.  Update my will    (completed)
3.  Visit Japan  (home commitments preclude this)
4.  Read all of Jane Austen's books   (All done - note to self do not repeat)
5.  Find and purchase DVD on Ruskin Lace    (completed)
6.  Cook a roast lamb dinner (done  30/8/14)
7.  Buy and learn to operate a Satnav (completed 15/5/2013)
8.  Get a wireless router for my computer (completed 29/7/2013)
9.  Buy and learn to use an iPad (completed 29/7/2013)
10.  Visit the Auckland Art Gallery 6 times (9/2/2013, 27/7/2013, 14/9/2013, 1/2014, 7/2014, 10/2014)
11.   Download ALL of Stuart Olyott's sermons onto a new iPod
12.  Go away on a weekend Embroidery Retreat (25-29/5/2013)
13.  Climb Rangitoto (weather dependent still to come)
14.  Buy new gym shoes (Completed 5/10/2013)
15.  Ride the full circle on the Outerlink Bus (Done 25/10/2014)
16.  Get new spectacles (14/9/2013)
17.  Have teeth checked at the dentist
18. Walk the full length of the Auckland Waterfront (weather dependent still to come)
19.  Read through the Bible in a year (completed 6/8/2014)
20.  Have a full body spa and massage -  Te ArohaHad it at Wairakei instead 18/4/2014
21.  Walk around Waipuna Lagoon (weather dependent still to come)
22.  Have a pedicure and manicure (done 31/8/2014)
23.  Go for High Tea at Cornwall Park Kiosk - closed so will have to be at Zealong on the day itself! (completed 28/10/2014)
24.  Check out the Mixt shop in Kingsland (May 2014)
25.  Have a neck and shoulder massage at St Lukes Mall (11/1/2014)
26.  Visit the Auckland Museum (10/8/2014)
27.  Visit the Sarjeant Gallery in Wanganui (completed April 2013)
28.  A Small Stitch For Sis  -  a suggestion from her :-) ( completed 21/12/2013)
29.  Stitch a piece of Crewel Work (6/6/2013)
30.  Buy new point and shoot camera (20/2/2013)
31. Walk the Glen Innes - St Helier walk (weather dependent still to come)
32. Visit Planetarium
33. Practise and play the Nikau Waltz
34. Knit a "vintage style" summer top (25/10/2013)
35. Sew a tailored black pencil skirt (May 2014)
36.  Lose 5kg (done 7/2014)
37. Stay in Napier and wander the Art Deco tourist route (completed 27-28/10/2013)
38. Complete a 1000 piece jigsaw
39. Have a professional photo taken
40. Serve on a jury if possible
41. Cook 60 new recipes once a week for a year (start 1/9/2103)
42. Buy a webcam - found out I already have one on my ipad so learnt to use it!
43. Set up a Skype account (30/7/2013)
44. Learn to use the self timer on my camera (27/9/2013)
45. Buy a camera tripod (May 2014)
46. Get my First Aid Certificate (13/6/2013)
47. Buy a pair of Red Band gumboots -  price dictated that I went for plain black rubber rather than Red Band (8/6/2014)
48. Go to the Mystery Creek Field days in June 2014 (14/6/2014)
49. Stitch an Altoid Tin Needlecase (completed 10/12/2013)
50. Make a Sashiko Tote Bag
51. Sew a lined summer dress with an invisible zip (completed)
52. Run 5km (11/2013)
53. Knit a pair of socks - started 14/5/2014 finished 16/8/2014
54. Do the Waikowhai Coastal Walk 6/4/2014
55. Go to Embroiderer's Conference in New Plymouth and do one class (didn't manage this one)
56. Join the Countdown Christmas Club (done 8/1/2014)  
57. Try out six new cafes ( The Old Library Cafe 22/12/2013, Crafty Knitwits 18/1/14, Sheinkin 8/3/14, Museum Café 10/8/14, Café Miko 5/7,  Teed St Larder 29/6))
58. Climb Mt Maunganui (completed 26/7/2014 - with a waffle cone to celebrate!)
59. Go to Daruma Sushi at least six times this year (Nov 2013, January 2014, March 2014, May 2014, August 2014, September 2014)

  2. Well I am 50 soon, and so should do a list like this. Strangely, many of your ideas would be on mine ~ 1,8,9, 17, 20 ~ #20 should be a regular occurrence ... J
