Note to self - next time remind me that I don't like shopping!
Today I took my iPad to the mall to see about a new cover. Four years ago I bought the iPad so was not expecting this conversation
Me: Do you have covers for iPads?
He: What sort of iPad is it?
Me: I brought it with me
He: It's an OLD one - they don't make covers for them any more!
No bonus points for him - terrible sales manner.
Off I go to another store where conversation went like this
Me: Do you have covers for iPads?
He: What sort of iPad is it?
Me: I brought it with me
He: It's an OLD one - they don't make covers for them any more!
What is it with these sales people? My iPad is NOT old! I bought it in July 2013! It is still in good working condition; it serves me very well and all I want is a cover.
Moral of the story - make your own cover and don't expect a male less than half your age to understand even a minute fraction of "use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without"
Does anyone have any suggestions for a "make it yourself" iPad cover?

There`s a lovely cover by Lynette Anderson in Quilters Companion magazine. I will look for number later and get back to you or you could email me.
Google free swing patterns, you might find something.
Or maybe modify this one?

I've made two iPad holders with hexagons -

Both lost a good oportunity to try to update your Ipad. There are no good sales people any longer! ;-)
I don't have an ipad but I've been frustrated too by how the younger people turn over their devices seemingly just to have the latest. Nothing like how we use things.
While I too enjoy using my gadgets as long as I can, sadly, anything older than a year is already considered 'old' today. So by that standard, your iPad is not only old, but almost antique! And antiques require good care, so as the commenters before me, I recommend a pretty handmade cover.
I agree with Paula! They had the ideal opportunity to ask if you'd noticed it slowing down or freezing or not having enough memory but they missed the chance.
If you still need a cover you could Google the model number and see if any covers are available on line. My son ordered a cover for my Samsung tablet online but it was only 1 model back from the latest at the time. ...good luck
