Knitted in a five five rib variation this will be cosy to wear in the winter. It has kept my lap warm over these past days as I've knitted! And I have learned that even though I can knit fast and well I don't enjoy it much and have been itching to get back to my "needles with eyes". I have no warm relationship with knitting needles.
Tonight I will start a small Christmas Ornament project after which I will go through the stash cupboard to find something bigger as a challenge. I have the next two weeks off work ('boss-inflicted use of annual leave' again) and plan on crossing everything off the list which currently covers one side of an A5 sheet of paper. Perhaps this is a little ambitious?
Margaret, I love it when even you admit you are being ambitious! This should be good. I'm not surprised that the girl liked the jacket - it is gorgeous. You may have to knit another in a few years when she grows out of/wears out this one.
ReplyDeleteThank you. In a few years time I may feel as if I could knit another but at the moment that would be a "no" :-)
DeleteA very nice little jacket, I like the color very much.
ReplyDeleteMartina
Thank you. I like the deep wine/purple but it would be very dark without the fuzzy yarn to brighten it.
DeleteSuch a lovely little jacket!
ReplyDeleteThanks. It is really quite a thick fabric to this knit as it is basically a rib so should keep her warm. They live in Wellington, notorious for gale force freezing southerly winds.
DeleteIt is beautiful and I can image the Granddaughter will love wearing it
ReplyDeleteI do hope she will love it.
DeleteA lovely knit Margaret, what a lucky girl:-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Ann. I hope my Great-niece likes it as well as her other one. She is non-verbal autistic so will not be able to tell us how she feels. I will be happy if she loves it enough to not want to part with it for the laundry.
DeleteThe jacket is beautiful and looks very cozy.
ReplyDeleteShall enjoy seeing what you pick out to stitch next using your needles with eyes.
I should have a photo of the Christmas ornament to put up tomorrow. But I have chosen one stitched over one on fine linen so am about ready to scratch my own eyes out tonight!
DeleteThe jacket looks gorgeous and warm
ReplyDeleteThanks. It will be very warm I think. Just what is needed for a Wellington winter.

ReplyDeleteWhat a lucky young lady - that jacket is so
ReplyDeletelovely and worthy of being worn until finally being worn out.
I do hope she loves this and wears it a lot.
ReplyDeleteThe jacket looks great! I'm sorry you didn't enjoy yourself, but hope you'll be able to make up for it in your two weeks off.
ReplyDeleteMy nephew phoned last night to tell me thanks for the knitting which was lovely. His little girls now have on each each which makes him so happy and encourages me to send treats. Not sure it will be knitted items though:)
DeleteOh wow, it's lovely and looks so warm and cozy. I think an adult size one would look good too! ;)
