Help please

Does anyone know why the changes to European Privacy laws and the consequent actions by Blogger would have stopped me receiving notifications by email of any comments on my blog?   I tried Help and it was none; so can anyone out there help me?

  1. As far as I know, they are aware of the problem and work on it. All comments' notifications will come back, soon.

  2. Apparently nobody is getting notified of comments (boo, hiss). I've read a couple places that a decent work-around is commenting on your own post and marking the "notify me" box before publishing your comment. I've just now put up my first post since this started so I've got my fingers crossed at this point.

  3. I don't know why, Margaret, but I can confirm that I've got the same problem. I now go to my Blogger dashboard and click on "comments" instead.

  4. Ciao Margaret, non preoccuparti, è un problema che è stato segnalato a Blogger e ci stanno lavorando. Lo risolveranno al più presto. Speriamo!

  5. A blogger of Samplers and Santas explained how to overcome this.

  6. I've done a blog post on this issue and mentioned updates a couple of times since. As Deb says, the work-around is to click "notify me" and then you get emails. BUT they all come through as "no-reply" so you have to look at the person's profile to see if they have an email there. Unless they correspond with you regularly.
Blogger have been aware of this for some time and are in no hurry to fix it because its a free service.

  7. I moderate all comments so I’m sure to not miss one but the emails should be coming back when blogger creates a workable fix for the new EU laws.

  8. I think the reasoning behind it is not to share the email addresses of commenters without their consent...but clearly something went wrong with the implementation!

  9. Thank you everybody. I'm not sure I like this new system but will no doubt get used to it!
