A delayed birthday present

Today the HD3QBEM and I went shopping for my birthday present.  She had promised a piece of furniture or a piece of jewelry for my 60th but somehow the time went by and we never went shopping.  A few weeks ago she remembered that we had not yet been and that in October this year I would be 62 but ill health has prevented any weekend excursions for some weeks.
But today we went and purchased these sapphire earrings.   Aren't they beautiful?   I am really pleased with them and will wear them often with pride and thankfulness for my wonderful mother and her love for me.
